The mayan ceremony is called Hetzmek and following the tradition has to be celebrated before the child is three.

 

After this age, the ceremony can be performed anyway without limits of age as a presentation of children.

 

He/she will be presented to the cardinal points, the elements and guardians of nature, in order to have a spiritual blessing that will accompain the child.

 

The godparents will need to be in the ceremony and gift something symbolic to the child.
